Thirsty for more…

As a therapist in Herghelia I am delighted to meet people of different professional backgrounds, different social status, different personalities, different beliefs and spiritual orientations. One of my patients in a spring session was Mrs. F.H, a very delicate, special lady, that used to be an university professor in theatrical art and piano. She just got retired and had difficulties in handling the new amount of free time in her life… Soon in our interactions I noticed that she is very superstitious and I began to pray for her regarding this in my personal devotional time. Later she shared that her adoptive daughter – herself a piano teacher in Arts Academy, sometimes ago was attending a course in spirituality and supernatural. I could see that probably that was the explanation of Mrs.F’s superstitious perspective over things.

Being a patient in Herghelia for the first time she was very pleased with our program, it’s results, and decided to continue at home what she discovered here. We kept in touch and being preoccupied on how to help her clarify her misunderstandings regarding supernatural world, I was impressed to invite both of them (Mrs. F and her daughter) to attend with us dr. Horst Muller’s seminars, held at the Cultural Palace in Targu Mures city – the city where they live. Dr. Muller is a SDA Romanian physician that lives in Germany and has a new approach in lifestyle education that emphasizes the strong connection between spirituality, emotions and diseases. To my delight they showed much interest in the topics presented, attending the meetings each evening. Later Mrs. F asked me about the link of Speranta Tv and RVS (Romanian SDA Tv and Radio channels). More than that, soon I got the good news that Mrs. F began to study the Bible. Next time that she came back to Herghelia she mentioned how happy she is that she discovered pastor Traian Aldea’s program and pastor Lucian Cristescu’s program on Speranta TV. Hearing that pastor Aldea is our neighbor in Herghelia she accepted our invitation to pay him a visit. She was happy to have a chance to ask questions personally and very impressed about pastor Aldea’s prayer for her at the end of our visit. She was also interested in pastor’s Lucian Cristescu telephone number and I provided her that. Later I found out that she was able to contact him already.
Her interest in spiritual subjects grew very much over the time and as she was very open I gave her many books of Ellen White:

The Desire of Ages, The Great Controversy, Prayer. About the last one, she told me, it is very dear to her. I also gave her the books written by Traian Aldea and Lucian Cristescu – the two pastors who’s programs she likes to watch on Speranta TV. Her turn to God in these last months didn’t passed unnoticed by her friends – she is member of an literary cenacle (a literature club) and the other members there mentioned that lately her interventions are more meaningful, more interesting…

This Christmas time my family decided to visit them. We’ve had a blessed time together singing carols and talking about the beauty of Christian education. As I remember, the last time we met, she opened the discussion about what is happening in the world nowadays… I took the chance to share with her Daniel chapter 2 and she was very impressed. She wants me very much to visit her again…she is a lovely soul that the Lord visibly moves, step by step, toward the truth…she always feels so thirsty for more… Lord, make me a channel of Your light for this precious soul!

At that time as a young couple – my husband and I were involved in this project as volunteers. We always believed in mission and found ways to get involved.

One day as I was walking from the Center to my office, during the lunch break, I was about to pass by a nice elderly couple that seemed to start earlier their daily afternoon walk. We greeted each other and as we were heading in the same direction and they seemed delighted to socialize, I joined them. The lady shared the fact that this is the first time for them in Herghelia and that she is totally amazed of what is happening here. She mentioned that it was her husband’s idea to come but she congratulates herself for being open to it.

Missis L. C was very eager to introduce to me her sister S – who was accompanying her to Herghelia for the first time. When my presentation was over, the two ladies enthusiastically approached me and we happily chat together for a while. She brought me greetings from another sweet lady, a good friend of hers with whom she came to Herghelia the previous time, when we actually first met.

Please pray for and support the Sanitarium Global Movement. We claim the following precious promise that the Lord will inspire, lead and protect each particular project started according with His plans: “The Lord has presented matters to me again and again, and given me instructions to say that God Himself is Ruler and Counselor and Guardian of every Sanitarium that shall be established”. Ellen G. White Letter 180, 1901

We want to establish a Worthy Students Fund to help prospective future Sanitarium leaders attend the annual “How to start and manage Sanitariums in the XXI Century” and cover part of the funds related to the production of a Loma Linda University Certificate online course in this field. We are working with LLU to produce such a course to be available to the SDA Church at large.

HERGHELIA – THE MOST URGENT NEEDS

  • Worthy student fund for “How to start and manage Sanitariums in the XXI Century” – $5000
  • Certificate online course on “How to start and manage Sanitariums in the XXI Century” – $2000
  • Medical Missionary Nursing School – Reframing the Medical Missionary Training Program – $25,000

We are getting close to final accreditation and adding an English program.

  • Extension of the Lifestyle Center – $1,000,000
